Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

Workstations

  • Self-built Mini-ITX Desktop

Small, powerful and quiet. A relatively small build using a Cooler Master NR200P case fits both a watercooled Ryzen 5800X and a NVIDIA 3080. It can run everything I can throw at it, including my incredibly under-optimized ray tracers!

  • Keychron K7

I am absolutely in love with this tiny beauty. It's nimble, practical and amazing to type on.

  • Steelseries Prime Wireless

I used to give wireless mice a bad reputation, but after using this I'm converted. Never been happier with the battery life, and the cable is usable between the wireless receiver and to charge & use the mouse itself.

  • Logitech BRIO 4K PRO

My most recent upgrade is this amazing webcam. The build quality is very sturdy and image quality is as good as I could wish for.

Development tools

  • VS Code

Versatility is all I reach for, and VS Code has it all. A much appreciated upgrade from the now dead Atom. Supports my development in Rust, Golang, Typescript, Python and even GLSL.

  • Renderdoc

What would I do without Renderdoc? The world of graphics is already deep and dark, and Renderdoc gives me the light I need.

Productivity

  • Linear

For my entire professional career, I've used JIRA and Trello. And WOW! am I happy I found Linear. It's so much easier to use for someone who doesn't need the enterprise power tools. Powers both my work tasks and for my family.

  • Google Calendar

The best free calendar out there, no question about it. Does everything I need in a calendar, which is not much.
